Description

Mullins Mechanical was responsible for the installation of the utility piping package at a solar cell manufacturing facility In Dalton, GA. The project consisted of the installation of the cooling and domestic water piping systems as well as a dust collection system. MMW also installed dry air piping along with a constant temperature and humidity system. The equipment installed for this project included dust collectors, chillers, cooling towers, and associated pumps.

With a tight deadline of 12 weeks, the Mullins team was able to finish ahead of schedule and installed 21,000 ft of stainless steel pipe ranging from 4″ to 24″ in 10 weeks. The original specification for this project was for all-welded pipe but Mullins value-engineered the project to use a combination of Gruvlok and Viega ProPress/MegaPress systems to meet the schedule requirements.
